What were your favorite books of 2012? If you’ve got a similar post I’d love to check it out so please leave a link in the comments! Here’s to a great 2013 in books!

Woah! Great recap. I’ve been meaning to do one myself, but then I realised that I have a 4 page essay to write about existentialist literature (I’ve been ignoring this during my winter hols), and 2 crime novels to read (I genuinely hate, hate, hate crime novels – damn this pop culture course) before Wednesday’s seminar (about 1000 pages) and I really just can’t be arsed!
So yeah, I might get to it sometime this month…
Also, I tried to get into Zone One and gave up about 150 pages in and goodess gracious his erudite writing self – I just couldn’t stand the prose, so I returned it to the library and have pretty much forgotten all about it since.
Happy New Year, by the by, I hope it’s a good one

FBT recently posted..The Outsider by Albert Camus (5/5) [re-read]
Thanks! I hope you get to do something similar as I love reading this kind of post. Although it can be time consuming to gather all the data so I don’t blame you for putting it off! And I was initially put off by Zone One and it took ages to get into it. I started it, then stopped, then re-started it and stuck with it and it did get a bit better but took some time to get into the rhythm of his writing. I found it to be worth it but it was also a pretty short book so that helped too. Happy New Year to you too and good luck with all your crime novels and essay!
You had a great year! Congrats on switching to self-hosting, I need to do that this year. But I already own my own domain name, so I’m a little fuzzy on how to make the switch. I may end up paying someone to do it for me.
I’m so glad that Outlander and Beauty Queens made it on your lists! I love them both. And I have The Age of Miracles from the library right now, so I’m glad to see that you mentioned that one as well.
Happy 2013!!

I’d like to say ask me if you have any questions about switching over but it confused me and I consider myself to be pretty savvy! But my boyfriend was able to help out and made it go much smoother, so it might be worth it to hire a pro so you don’t lose all your posts and stuff.
And I absolutely loved The Age of Miracles so I hope you enjoy it too and am looking forward to your review!
