Michelle at My Books. My Life. recently posted her husband’s favorite reads of 2012. Because my boyfriend is a reader too, I thought I’d share some of his favorite books of 2012 as well. Here’s his top 5:
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card: I haven’t read this one but he said it was really good.
The Postmortal by Drew Magary: My favorite book of 2012 that he loved too.
The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt: Another favorite of mine which I recommended to him.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy: Yet another great book we both read.
11/22/63 by Stephen King: I haven’t read this one but I really want to.
If graphic novels are included, these were his favorites:
Fables by Bill Willingham: I haven’t finished this series but he’s all caught up and said it’s amazing.
Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan: I loved this series as well and got him into it after I finished it.
Many of these books are probably familiar to readers of my blog because I’ve read almost all of them. I’m happy to say that 5 of the 7 mentioned came from my recommendations which means I know a little something about books and can share great books with others. Although now the pressure is on to top 2012 which was full of great books!
What books did your significant other like in 2012? What can you recommend based on these? What should I have him read next?

I read The Sisters Brothers but I still don’t know if I enjoyed it. Haven’t read any of these others.

Yay for Ender’s Game! I kind of hate Orson Scott Card, but man that was a good book. And also hooray for The Postmortal! It was one of my favorite reads of 2011, I should re-read it sometime soon I think. It gave you lots to think about as you read, and I like books like that.
I wish my honeyman read a little more so he could do stuff like this
He DID read The Hunger Games however, which was so cute and he really enjoyed.

Wow, you read The Postmortal even before me! And here I thought no one had ever heard of it. It was amazing though and I’m sure it’ll be a re-read at some point. My boyfriend read The Hunger Games too.
Ender’s Game was a favorite the year I read it too
Ooh, maybe I should read it too. It seems everyone who reads it absolutely loves it!
