BTT asked: Do you ever try to pair music with the book you’re reading? Play the movie soundtrack while reading the original book? Find mood music that fits with your story?
My answer: No, I don’t like listening to music while I read because I find any noise (music, TV, etc.) distracting when I’m reading. I don’t find that mood music enhances the reading experience.
I’ve never even thought to seek out the movie soundtrack to a book either. I do like some soundtracks but never thought to combine them with reading. Plus I’m not a really a huge music fan. I do like certain songs but I don’t listen to music non-stop throughout the day or feel like I’m missing out on anything by not listening to music very often. So maybe that has something to do with it.
Do you find your love of music carries over into your reading time? Or does music enhance your reading experience? What are your favorite songs or soundtracks to go with certain books?

I agree with you, if I have my personal choice it is no music. I like quiet time while I read.

I prefer quiet when I read. Sometimes I’ll hear a song that reminds me of a book, but it’s not often.

I can’t imagine a life without singing and listening to music often! I do like silence at times, though, especially if I’m reading a difficult book.

I don’t usually use music when I’m reading either, however, I can usually read with the TV on. I prefer either complete silence or the slight buzz of the TV just for some background music. As for movie soundtracks, I don’t ever use them as I don’t really buy them. Besides, I only usually like one or two song anyway, definitely not enough to make me go out and buy the entire album.
