This month was a pretty good reading month for me. I’d originally planned to read a lot more but got super busy. Then I discovered a new non-fiction/spiritual series (The Ringing Cedars of Russia) which I hadn’t planned on reading and devoured 2 books in it so far. So some of the books I originally had out from the library fell to the side.
I also only read one book for the R.I.P. VIII challenge but I at least tried several others, just didn’t enjoy them. I’ve still got a few books out from the library which were in my original plans for October that I’m still reading but that’s okay.
I’m also super happy that I hit 100 books and I don’t think I’ll be challenging myself to outdo my number from last year. Instead, I’ll just sit back, relax, and enjoy my reading as I coast to the end of the year.
Plans for November
I don’t have a set TBR for November but I’ve acquired a few books which are ones I’ll be getting to next.
I’ve still got Sense and Sensibility out at the library and I recently started that. So far I’m not loving it as much as Pride and Prejudice but I’ll still finish it and maybe it’ll engage me more the further I read.
Then I attended a workshop by author James Twyman and bought a copy of his book The Art of Spiritual Peacekeeping which I also started and can’t wait to get back into. Seeing him in person also inspired me to want to re-read his other book that I own (and got signed!), The Moses Code.
Then my mom, who attended the workshop with me, bought a copy of another of his books, The Proposing Tree. She read it and enjoyed it and just loaned it to me to read, so it looks like I’ll be reading at least 2 of his books this month.
Then I’ve got Love Minus Eighty out from the library and I’m excited to start it. I also got an email that Night Film is finally in for me to read so I’ll have to read it soon because I’m sure there are still tons of holds on and I won’t be able to renew it. Then I got two graphic novels for my boyfriend to read, Hawkeye, Vol. 1: My Life as a Weapon and the second volume, Little Hits. He enjoyed those so I want to read them as well before they go back to the library.
So it looks like my TBR has just fallen into place and I’ve already got quite a few books to read. I’m sure I’ll be adding to it as I want to read more in the Ringing Cedars of Russia series and there are a bunch of other new and exciting books that are out. Tomorrow for Top Ten Tuesday I mention quite a few sequels which I’m excited to read so I’ll probably get to some of them in November as well.
How was your October? What plans do you have for November? Do you have a planned TBR or are your reads kind of chosen randomly like mine?
